Membership

Members of the Red Cross Society are the backbone of the organization. District Red Cross Society has enrolled patrons, vice patrons, life members and other members for the Society. We are generating funds for the Society from the membership subscription as follows:

The membership subscription ranges from Rs. 250/- to  Rs. 25,000/-

Payment of membership fees :- Membership fees can be sent in the name of President (D.C) / Secretary, Distt. Red Cross Society, Dharamshala payable at Dharamshala (H.P.)

OR

Online Payment of Membership fees :- Membership fees can also be sent online through our S.B. A/c No. 050001001516 maintained in ICICI Bank at Dharamshala.

Membership form :- Those persons who desire to become members of the District Red Cross Society, Dharamshala may fill up the membership form. Forms duly filled with requisted fees shall be sent to President (D.C.) / Secretary District Red Cross Society.

Terms & conditions to become a member of Red cross society, Dharamshala

1. Duties of members

The enrolled members will perform the following duties:

• To recognize and comply with the Rules and Regulations of the Society and pay their subscription fees regularly;
• To adhere to and disseminate the Fundamental Principals of the Movement, The International Humanities Law and the protection of the Red Cross emblem;
• To promote and participate actively in the activities of the Indian Red Cross Society at the District/Sub Divisional Level including the promotion of membership, to generate funds.
• To generate donations/financial resources of Red Cross Society.

2. Rights of Members

Members have the following rights:-

• To vote in the meetings as per Rules.
• They have the right to elect and to be elected at the District level and if elected, to represent at appropriate forms.
• To participate in the various Red Cross programme/campaigns/ activities and undertake voluntary service from time to time.
• Annual members shall have no right to vote.
• The Life Members/Patrons will get subsidized services in various activities as per decision of the Executive Body of the District Red Cross Society, Dharamshala.

3. Cessation of Membership:-

• Any member may withdraw from the membership by giving notice in writing at anytime to the Branch from where he/she has become the member.
• Annual membership expires twelve months from the date of registration, unless the membership is renewed periodically.
• The Distt. Branch may expel a member for grave misconduct or for any of his/her activity prejudice to the image of the Red Cross for which the member concerned should be given full opportunity to explain his/her conduct. Any member so expelled should be informed in writing and the member concerned shall have a right to appeal in writing to the Chairman of the Distt. Branch concerned if desired by him/her. The Distt.  Branch shall keep the State informed. Grave misconduct for the purpose of expulsion as the display of character or morality incompatible with the seven fundamental principals or engagement in activities which are detrimental to the reputation or the activities of the Red Cross Society.
